Streisand's European concerts were announced on April 30, 2007, again from promoter Michael Cohl for Concert Productions International (CPI) and Solo. Streisand, who will be accompanied by a 58-piece orchestra on the tour, said, “What a joy it will be to perform in so many wonderful countries for the first time. I can't wait to experience these different audiences and different cultures.”
Streisand's ticket prices for Europe were almost as much as her American shows – the London tickets ranged from £100 to £500.
Like her record-breaking 2006 tour of North America, designated proceeds from the Europe tour supported Streisand's various philanthropic initiatives and were distributed through The Streisand Foundation.
The initial five concerts announced on 30 April were:
- 21 June Vienna, Schloss Schonbrun
- 26 June Paris, Bercy
- 10 July Nice, Nikaia Stadium
- 14 July County Kildare, Castletown House
- 18 July O2 Arena, London
CPI later added two extra London shows; announced then canceled a show in Rome; and also canceled two shows in Stockholm and Nice. In all, Streisand performed nine concerts in seven European cities.
Right before the tour began, Streisand told Elysa Gardner of USA Today, “I like challenges, and it's time to do things that I haven't done before,” Streisand said. “This time, I really enjoyed touring the United States, because I didn't have stage fright. Would I rather have been in bed eating a pint of coffee ice cream? Yeah. But I can't raise money for my foundation that way.”
