As a running bit on his late night TV show, host Stephen Colbert created "15 questions to cover the full spectrum of human experience" which he dubbed The Colbert Questionert.

The Streisand segment in which she participated in the questions was unaired when Colbert had medical issues and had to take a short leave of absence from his show.  In January 2024, Colbert finally aired it, and CBS posted it on YouTube as well.  Here are Barbra's answers (for posterity):

BEST SANDWICH?

Dark turkey w/ coleslaw and Russian Dressing on Rye Bread

SCARIEST ANIMAL?

She loves snakes (and wears snake jewelry) but is also scared of them.  "I appreciate its beauty but I despise its venom."

APPLES OR ORANGES?

After admitting she has reflux and can't eat oranges, Barbra explains that she loves apples because her dogs love them too.  Then she reveals that Jim Brolin introduced her to an apple called "Envy" which has "the most incredible texture."

HAVE YOU EVER ASKED SOMEBODY FOR THEIR AUTOGRAPH?

Streisand gives two answers! When she got President Kennedy's autograph in 1963, she put it in her gown but when she got home she had lost it. The second person was actor Cliff Robertson, who she saw on the street and asked for his autograph.

WINDOW OR AISLE ?

"I always like to look out the window."

FAVORITE SMELL?

"Babies. Also roses." Barbra's Baby is her new propagated rose, she revealed.

LEAST FAVORITE SMELL?

"Clorox."

EARLIEST MEMORY?

"I remember being little and watching my mother and her sister talk. But I could see and feel that they were missing each other. One was talking about one subject, the other one didn't understand what this one was talking about. So I could feel the lack of communication."

CATS OR DOGS?

"Dogs! Are you kidding?"

YOU ONLY GET ONE SONG TO LISTEN TO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE: WHAT IS IT?

"I love the sound of my son's voice," Streisand answered.  And she named "How Deep Is the Ocean" (her duet with Jason Gould).

WHAT NUMBER AM I THINKING OF?

There was some funny business around this.  Streisand chose 24, which wasn't correct.  Then she quizzed him about even vs. odd numbers and Colbert refused to answer since he always chooses the same number when he asks this question to his guests.

DESCRIBE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE IN FIVE WORDS

Streisand broke the rules a bit and answered: "Looking forward to peace" (four words).
